FINALE SHOW WEEK!!!!

I know you all have been anxiously waiting to see the 72 Flight Attendant costumes so here they are!!!

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS, IT'S SHOW WEEK!!

It's more like show 3 weeks. I had Tom Thumb last week and this week and then Spring Sing next week its a crazy time over here! Between being at shows and rehearsals at night, working at the costume shop during the day, and dreaming about it at night, I haven't gotten much sleep lately, but it's ok because this is what I LOVE to do!

Last weeks and This week show was The Life and Death of Tom Thumb the Great and it was my first production working in the costume shop. When my coworker and I were first told about it we thought "good, we won't have to make anything and this will be a breeze" boy, were we wrong!!

Let me introduce you to my baby...



The dress not the person even though I love her too! I worked for weeks and weeks on this dress. I took it apart and put it back together so many times i can't even count the number. I hand washed every piece over and over. I always put my heart and soul into every project I work on, but this was more than that. sadly I think I have unhealthy attachment to this dress, but it is the first thing i have truly worked on while working at the costume shop.

I have never done hair or makeup, but I some how got to do it this show! Luckily we have a WONDERFUL Makeup artist who can tell me how to do it and if its wrong!

Also, Spring Sing costumes are DONE!!! Well i have 2 more to work on, but 70 done out of 72!!! I'm so happy!!!! Now I'm ready for the show to be over because I'm afraid of something going horribly wrong with them! Seriously I have nightmares!

Highlights

Here are a some highlights of the last few weeks:

JRP and I had our own version of Man vs Food at Ihop's all you can eat pancakes..

Last week was pretty rough and this week is going to be even worse, but my wonderful and amazing Valentine always knows how to cheer me up!

Lastly Best Friend date was not really what we planned, but still great!

That I would never, ever be this busy...

But apparently I am....

Yes, I just had to schedule time to be with my 2 best friends...

I literally had to write it in my planner...

I am feeling like a very bad friend...

Wait..I actually did something productive last semester?

This is what my last semester consisted of...

Making 8 bridesmaid dresses... Compared to the 70 flight attendant costumes I get to make this semester, 8 now seems like nothing. However, last semester was a different story.

This was the first time I had really done anything like this. I mean, yes I have made dresses and I have sewn all my life, but I do not normally use a pattern and I don't normally make 8 of the same dress. I'm still contemplating if I would do it again, but if asked I'm going to be honest with myself and say I would. I can't really pass up a chance to better my sewing skills or a chance to build my portfolio up.

Speaking of those Flight attendants, I have this weird thing where I dream about sewing projects I'm working on, but not just dream. I actually sew the thing in my dream and I wake up and suddenly know how to sew it. It's very odd and very helpful at the same time. But anyway, I cannot stop dreaming about these costumes. maybe cause they are 70 of them or maybe because I'm just stressing myself out, but I feel like my dreams have been over taken by these things until I get them done, which needs to happen soon or I won't be able to sleep.

By the way, the costumes are for my club (pretty much the christian version of a sorority) at my school. We do this show every year called spring sing it's a pretty big deal to everyone here and a pretty big competition between the clubs. It is really a competition for me this year because they have a "best costume" award that would look so nice on my resume. Which may be another reason I am dreaming.

Dear AMAZING Vienna Sunglasses,

I'm sorry I put you in my bag and killed you today! You were so good to me and I threw you away like a piece of trash. You were my most prized accessory and the perfect touch to every outfit on a sunny day! I can't believe you're gone! The day I meet you sitting on a rack at a Vienna Drug Store, You were only 5 euro, but I knew you were worth so much more! My friends told me not to buy you and that you were ugly, but I saw the true beauty in you. The second I put you on I knew you were mine. I don't know how I am going to replace you or how I am going to go on in the fashion world without you! You will always be in my heart and I will always have great memories with you! PLEASE FORGIVE ME, Vienna Glasses!!! I have learned my lesson!
