Living Room Before and After

Most of you know that JRP and I are moving to JAPAN in 6 weeks to teach English!

I know crazy right after we spent a year fixing up a house here and then just moved into it? Well thankfully we won't have to sell our house or give away our puppies, but it will be sad to leave it after all the blood, sweat, tears, heart, and soul that has gone into this house! I will try to post before and after pictures of every room before we leave and then this blog will be all about Japan!!

Without further ado here is the first before and after, the living room!

Before:

Let me just take you back for a minute of how it actually looked because these pictures do not do it justice. Ceiling tiles that were so nasty and falling down everywhere. Holes in almost every inch of the walls. Huge floor heater vent! Scratched up disgusting floors that were covered in dust! A different texture on almost every wall. Not to mention the walls everywhere that made it look so tiny!

After:

As you can see we haven't hung any pictures up yet which turned out to be a good thing since we are leaving, but I think it still looks great without any!

The new blue chair we bought a few weeks ago and didn't realize it blends into our walls we are going to have to get something to go behind it to break it up and we are wanting an ottoman and the penny table we are making is going by it!

I'm back!!!

We finally have internet!!! YAY!

A lot has happened since I posted last. Get ready for a long post, but one with a lot of pictures!

Most of you know Barney run away back in November. We were so upset, but didn't want to

live at our new house with out a dog. So for Jason's Christmas present we got Ghost Buster...

He is the sweetest most well behaved dog ever, but felt bad because we were at work a

ll day and he didn't have anyone to play with. So we got him a friend, Jetta...

Jetta is spunky, sweet, and a ball of energy!

We weren't sure if we were going to keep her because Buster and her were not getting along at first, but now they are the best of friends!!

It is so funny to use because before we got married we vowed to each other that we would never have inside animals because they are gross (still true), they stink and make the whole house stink (still true), and they tear stuff up (they actually have been very good about this).

And now we have this every night...

They are truly the loves of our lives!!! I really don't know what we would do without them!!!

I won tickets to see Kathy Griffin!!! I took my mom of course because she loves her as much as I do!! It was amazing!!! The only thing that would have made it better is my sister being there, but she will be home in a few weeks!!!

Sadly thats the best picture I got of her, but it was still awesome and so much fun!

Jason and I had an AMAZING Valentine's Day!!!

I got him his first set of power tools!!

Which let me tell you ladies, if you want your hubby to build you a ton of beautiful things get him power tools!!! He has built me so much stuff and fixed so many things, if I would have only knew I would have bought these a year ago!!

He's built me a pantry!

Ahh I love it! I can't wait to get all organized up in there.

He built me a shelf over the washer and dryer!

He built me an AMAZING craft/sewing table

I still need to paint it and protect the top, but I AM IN LOVE!! I have been wanting one of these for so long! Can't wait to fill those cubbies up with all kinds of crafty stuff!!

We also redid a lot of furniture and accessory pieces..

We redid this sofa table I got at the craft sell and I am kicking myself for not taking a before picture because it was rough. We also sprayed the candle sticks that beautiful blue to give our living room a bit more color!

And you get a little peak at our living room, but that is all you are getting right now because our house is not "blog worthy" yet at all!

And they we started redoing our side table and we thought we would try something crazy and

thats been a huge trend right now...

Pennies!!! but we ran out half way through! :(

I promise I will update more now that we are living in our house (never thought that would happen!!)

WE ARE MOVING IN THIS WEEKEND!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH SO EXCITED!!!

Sorry I haven't updated. The house was so close I wanted to wait till we were done! I'll get pictures up as soon as I get everything put together, which will probably be a while!

Happenings of Late

I suck at updating lately all I do these days is go to work, go work on the house, and then go to bed. I haven't been on my computer since about the last time I updated!!

We have got a lot done on the house lately!!!!!

We FINALLY got our fence up everything but the chain link part and our huge gate for our driveway!! Those are the "historical rose bushes" I'm thinking about chopping them down. (sorry the picture is really blurry)

We got our new front door in!!

We tiled our shower!!

The Stripe Saga

Ok I kinda lied in my last post, I thought about it a lot and there not going to be any changes made to this blog other than I'm going to try to post more. However, there are a lot of changes being made in my life, like the new business I am starting, but that a whole another story for a whole other blog which is coming soon.

Any way at the house we had a huge problem. Remember the stripes we are doing on our living room ceiling? The story starts like this....

We taped everything off, which took 2 days and 3 rolls of expensive tape

Then we painted the yellow and at this point I wasn't sure about the look.

Then we peeled off the tape and this happened...

On almost every stripe, I wanted to cry and I almost did, I was so upset about this.

and It still looks like that because I can't bring myself to work on it more, should we just paint it all yellow, all white, or fix the stripes? What do you guys think??

We also moved the back door!!!
