Well since nothing really "blog worthy" happened today other than this awesome quote from my father

"it'll eat."

I could tell you the story around this, but you will still be confused so no point. In fact, I'm still confused.

I wanted to introduce you to my family, I mean they are the subject of this blog so I figure it's as good a time as any.

Let me start with a poem I wrote a long time ago about my family it may give you some insight.

My family as shoes

My mother is a high heel
She likes to crush dreams
My dad is a cowboy boot
He is a hard worker
My sister is a toddler's shoe
She yells a lot and throws fits
My brother-in-law is a flip-flop
He doesn't have much up there
I am a ballet flat
I love to dance any and everywhere

It makes me laugh every time I read it and It makes my mother scoff every time she reads it.

Well let me start with my daddy since I seem to talk about him a lot.

I am very much a daddy's girl. I have always been the one to help him work on cars, fix things around the house, go fishing, go to the gun range, throw a football around with. Yes, because my father didn't have a boy and they thought I was a boy before I was born I just automatically got to be the tom boy which I didn't really mind and still don't I actually still do most of those things with him now I just do it in a dress.

My dad is probably the funniest person in my family, but he doesn't show it when new people come over. People don't believe the stories I tell about him when they first meet him, but after awhile his true self starts to emerge. I still look at my Father as a superhero he can do anything, knows everything, and fix anything, but for real though. Those of you who know him know that about him. He is Mr. Fix it and Mr. Know it all. He is also a HUGE redneck and i use that in the most loving way possible. It's what gives him his charm I guess you could say. I will try to keep track of quotes from him because they are HILARIOUS.

His new favorite show as already mentioned is SYTTD because he likes the "drama" (really his words not mine) He Loves to comment on who ugly a dress looks or how good it looks, it's very funny and he has pretty good fashion sense, but I didn't tell you that he would never admit to it.

My mom, She doesn't really crush dreams...most of the time...

My mom is AMAZING. My friends often joke that she is a robot. Which I sometimes think she might be. She is the MOST efficient person I know. She hates wasting time and she hates sitting around she always has to be doing something. Every time I complain about having a lot of hours in school she reminds me that when she got her bachelors she took 24 hours, had a full time job, 2 little kids, and got a 4.0, Yeah, for real how would you like to have that held over your head it's a lot of pressure.

She is the Queen. We often joke that, she does what she wants, when she wants, where she wants, at all times, and you will like it. She often makes comments that are well let say inappropriate, but very funny. She loves rap and Justin Timberlake is her favorite or Future Sex as she calls him and Yes, she plays it very loudly in her office at OC.

She is very very very VERY sarcastic.

Have you seen Blind Side? Mother is A LOT like the mom in that movie!

But she is also one of the nicest and most hospitable person I know. In fact, growing up my sister and I almost always shared a room because we had someone else living with us. I inspire to be like my mother in that way. Both of my parents have the most servant hearts that I have seen. I know that is the gift that God gave them and they use it a lot. I hope that one day my kids will say the same about me.

She is an incredible, funny, loving, sarcastic, robotic, smart, and nice person. I am blessed to have her as my mother.

My older sister...

She is my best friend. I love her very much. Yes, she does throw fits when she get stressed out, but its ok it's actually kind of funny when its happening.

She like the rest of my family is so funny! She has always been there for me no matter what I needed.

As kids everybody thought we were twins even though we are 3 years apart. Probably mostly because my mother loved to dress us alike, but I didn't mind I always wanted to be like my big sister and still do. I look up to her so much and she has taught me a lot about everything. She is a joy to have in my life and I thank God for giving me such a great role model.

My brother-In-Law, aka O tall one

The newest addition to my family, but it feels like he has just always been there.
He is also, HILARIOUS, but like my father you wouldn't expect half of what comes out of his mouth when you first meet him.
He is really like my big brother. At first I wasn't so sure about him I thought he was too quiet and rather annoying because he came to our house everyday to ask my sister out and everyday she would say no until we convinced her to just go out with him once so he would leave us alone and she did and the rest is history. I am now very happy that he is in our family and can't believe I ever thought those things.

And then there's me....

I love to sew! Hopefully I will have some tutorials on here soon.
I have a slight, some might call obsession with Marie Antoinette (The title of the blog, Pour La Reine means For the Queen in French and I have more books on her than my hometown's library and my college's library combined. That may give you a bit of insight on how obsessed I am) Also, the background of that picture it Her birth place my 2nd favorite place in the world, First of course being Versailles.
I love dresses ( My bff made me count them the other day I have 37)
I love going to the gun range
There's just a few strange things about me
Also, Heathrow originated from my aunt who has just always called me that Heather, Heathrow I guess it kind of fits.

Well that's the fam, I wouldn't trade them in. They keep my life interesting and crazy, but I love them more than words can describe.

The seatbelt sign has been turned on...FINALLY

(No I will not give up the airplane titles I think they are funny sorry if you don't)

FREEDOM....well...kind of....

Car officially unstuck!! We are out of my apartment!!!! Where did we go?

First on the priority list...

Sonic, what else?
It's funny how when you get stuck in a place for a few days, how much more you appreciate every little thing when you get out. So when the carhop brought me my glorious Watermelon Sprite I nearly fainted in excitement! It was pure joy when I put the straw to my lips and took the first sip...yum!

And then disaster struck....

...See I have this problem (any of my friends can tell you this) if you put a drink in front of me with a straw it will be gone in 2 minutes flat, sometimes less. I always feel terribly bad for waiters when they get me because the whole time I am there they will constantly running back and forth to refill my drink...

Just as quick as the joy came it was gone and so was my Watermelon Sprite :(

But I was still happy because I was no longer cooped up in my apartment with my parents and no food. I had seen the light and it was great and then the light was gone..

My parents pulled on to the turnpike, they were taking me to an even smaller apartment to be cooped up in!! I can't believe how cruel they are sometimes.

When we got "home" (I use that word very loosely) our walk way was completely covered in snow. We of course have no shovel here so my Father being the red neck that he is uses the first thing he sees to clear the path so my mother, who is prone to falling and breaking things, can walk inside. What does he grab? Take a look at the brilliancy of my daddy.

Yes its a skillet and it worked pretty well. Just call him the red neck Bear Grills.

On a completely different note...

I think I have turned into one of those obsessive bloggers. I find myself saying things like..."Oh, That is SO going on my blog." and "What? No internet! What about my blog?" I also get giddy with excitement when I find out that people read it or when people call me cracking up because they think its so funny. So thank you readers. (Comments would be nice too though) You make my day, but really that's not hard to do especially this week.

Expect delays...

Yes, It's official we are delayed at my apartment...

Well, the car was finally abandoned after 3 hours of trying to get it unstuck.
I, the smart one in the family, left after about 1 1/2 hour, went back into my apartment and started getting the place warm for when my father, the most pigheaded in the family, finally decided to give up and come inside.
He finally got the car to the stop sign by my apartment and left it.

Of course, being a college student I have no food in my apartment. So we were stranded in my apartment with no food and two very whinny and hungry parents. This is a problem obviously...Luckily I was put in charge of checking the apartments for the break, therefore I have keys..I walked to my boyfriends apartment, through the 20 feet of snow outside, with just the coat on back and determination in my heart. I got to the snow covered stairs and made my way up to his door on the second floor and this is what I find...

I mean really on the SECOND floor!! I know all those people who grew up in the north think I'm a wimp, but I have never seen anything like this in my life.

I go into his apartment and steal what little food he had (with his permission of course) and carry it back to waiting parents who are still frozen solid from standing outside in the blizzard for 3 hours. Really, I'm surprised my dad still has all his toes today.

What food did he have, you may ask. Well...just take a look at what we have eaten for the last 2 nights...

Good thing I LOVE Mac and Cheese, too bad my parents don't, but they aren't complaining...yet

We spent most of the day watching movies, Myth busters, and SYTTD (Say Yes To The Dress, AKA My dad's favorite show because of all the "drama") and if you don't know that abbreviation learn it, love it, live it. SYTTD is a pretty big deal over here at Heathrow!

What a great Christmas day...Really I promise there is no sarcasm in that!

Happy Christmas!!!

Unwanted White Christmas

This is what I woke up to this morning...

And this

Yes that is a BLIZZARD people!! Craziness...

So This is what I will be doing all day...

Sewing in my PJs with a steaming cup of apple cider.

And waiting for my crazy parents, who tried to go to Texas today, to come back home.

If walls could talk

Today I said goodbye to the house I have lived in since I was 4 and even though I have my own apartment now it was very sad for me. It's hard to say goodbye, but I know it was time to move on. However, I think my mother immediately regretted the decision today when she walked out the door. (But that may be because they are living in an apartment till they find a new house)

If the walls of that house could talk, they would probably be happy that loud family finally moved out. Now, they can have a little peace and quiet.

I will miss a lot of things about that house...
It was so close, now I have to drive forever away to see my parents
It had the perfect sewing room, really it was awesome!
Taking pictures by the fireplace every event we went to, here are a few of those pictures...

Halloween 2009 Carmen San Diego and Where's Waldo

2008 Mudpit formal

Halloween 2007

I will miss making Sushi in the dinning room

I will miss dying our hair pink

I will miss bridal showers, birthday parties, and family dinners

I will miss our WONDERFUL neighbors

I know I will always have amazing memories from this house and I am so happy for the new family that gets to make memories in this house!

And its good a thing walls CAN'T talk, I know they would betray me.

So long house, We've had a good run, but now it's time for a us to go our separate ways. Be nice to the new owners, don't give them too much trouble.

An impostor and a Change of blog

Dear Zipper Foot,
Why can I not buy you at any store? You aren't even available at the singer store online! I bought something that deceived me into thinking it was you, but no it was an impostor. Now I'm stuck with this trickster that doesn't fit my machine. Zipper foot, I am very upset with you right now! Just thought you should know.
P.S. I will find you, I have to find you. So you better just come out of hiding. NOW!!!

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. It's been a crazy semester and my business has been put on hold for the moment.

Saying that this blog is going to be about my life now because it is oh SO interesting (not really at all, but it's more interesting than my business at the moment).
