This is what my last semester consisted of...
Making 8 bridesmaid dresses... Compared to the 70 flight attendant costumes I get to make this semester, 8 now seems like nothing. However, last semester was a different story.
This was the first time I had really done anything like this. I mean, yes I have made dresses and I have sewn all my life, but I do not normally use a pattern and I don't normally make 8 of the same dress. I'm still contemplating if I would do it again, but if asked I'm going to be honest with myself and say I would. I can't really pass up a chance to better my sewing skills or a chance to build my portfolio up.
Speaking of those Flight attendants, I have this weird thing where I dream about sewing projects I'm working on, but not just dream. I actually sew the thing in my dream and I wake up and suddenly know how to sew it. It's very odd and very helpful at the same time. But anyway, I cannot stop dreaming about these costumes. maybe cause they are 70 of them or maybe because I'm just stressing myself out, but I feel like my dreams have been over taken by these things until I get them done, which needs to happen soon or I won't be able to sleep.
By the way, the costumes are for my club (pretty much the christian version of a sorority) at my school. We do this show every year called spring sing it's a pretty big deal to everyone here and a pretty big competition between the clubs. It is really a competition for me this year because they have a "best costume" award that would look so nice on my resume. Which may be another reason I am dreaming.

VERY sad day
Dear AMAZING Vienna Sunglasses,
I'm sorry I put you in my bag and killed you today! You were so good to me and I threw you away like a piece of trash. You were my most prized accessory and the perfect touch to every outfit on a sunny day! I can't believe you're gone! The day I meet you sitting on a rack at a Vienna Drug Store, You were only 5 euro, but I knew you were worth so much more! My friends told me not to buy you and that you were ugly, but I saw the true beauty in you. The second I put you on I knew you were mine. I don't know how I am going to replace you or how I am going to go on in the fashion world without you! You will always be in my heart and I will always have great memories with you! PLEASE FORGIVE ME, Vienna Glasses!!! I have learned my lesson!
Love your crappy owner,

Start of Something New
Yesterday was the first day of classes for the spring semester of my Junior year! (Wow I can't believe I'm a junior in college that's insane!)
Let me say, it was probably one of the BEST first days of school I have ever had! Let me break it down for you!
The night before I got a BINDER, I know shocking and I actually got organized!! And I bought a PLANNER!! It felt great to wake up and be so ready for the day and the school year!
The first day of school started bright and early at 8:30 am (Yes, I know it was not that early however, I am not a morning person at all!) where I dragged my tired and still half asleep self out of bed. JRP showed up minutes later to pick me up to go swim laps at our school pool! It was the best way to start off the morning and I wish I could start every morning like that. However I think JRP would not agree with me on that. He did come to the resolution that he was going on the Michael Phelps diet (5000 calories a day) so at the end of the semester my boyfriend should look like this...
Well let's hope not.....
Then I got to take a nice long shower and wash clothes. Then lunch with JRP. Then Accounting, (booo) where I already have homework (boo again)
Then off to my job at the COSTUME SHOP!!! I love working there!! Although he did send me on a wild goose chase for black clothing in a dark black attic. JRP says it was a test and I failed miserably!
Then I went to Christian Family which is one of the 3 classes I have with JRP (I have a feeling he's going to get sick of me), it was fun! I'm really excited about that class because our teacher is one of my favorites on campus and I have wanted to take it forever!!
JRP and I then ate some of the dinner that I had prepared last week and thankfully it was not half bad.
Then I got an email from my aunt confirming mine and JRP's tickets to come see them over spring break!! Ah we are so excited!! Really spring break cannot get here fast enough!! Only 60 days left!!
Then I was in bed by 11! So yes It was an AWESOME day! I hope everyday is like that this semester!!

Cheese, it makes anything better
I can't think of a catching airport related title today.
Last night JRP drove down here to watch THE game with me. Yes, I know it's sad that we can't go a week without seeing each other...go ahead and judge us!
Yes, my Longhorns did lose, but we won't discuss that.
I still am a longhorn through and through. I am so proud of them this year for even making it there! Poor Colt, I felt so bad for him! I hope that he is ok and I hope to see him in the NFL!
It was a good thing JRP was here cause I was much less upset than I would have been.
Today was a crazy day! The pile perviously shown has now magically (HA, I wish) turned into this pile...
If you can't tell already, my cooking philosophy is just add LOTS of cheese it makes everything better! Hopefully that works!
I have a few more things to make, but I ran out of chicken and baking pans. So that will have to wait for another day.

2010 Turbulence already
I started working on my new years resolution today. I made a menu for the month and I went out and bought all the food! Now I'm left with this...
Wait...I have to cook all this food?...Crap....
I enjoy cooking, but I'm not very good at it. This could be interesting...
I hope JRP likes casseroles otherwise he is going to be eating mac and cheese for the month.
That pile is staying put for now, my tv boyfriend, Bear Grills is on and he needs my undivided attention. *Remember if you are ever stranded somewhere just take off your clothes and you will survive! (if you watch man vs wild you will understand why I say that hahaha)

Welcome aboard flight 2010
Sorry I took a one week hiatus from blogging...
My wonderful and amazing boyfriend (JRP) came and rescued me on Tuesday from my snowed in apartment and took me to stay for the week with him and his family. JRP has the most fantastic family!! They were so kind and wonderful to me. I had so much fun being with them! They are some of the most caring people and most hilarious people especially JRP's grandfather. He cracks me up! I know where JRP gets his sense of humor. I bet they were ready for me to uninvade their house, but it sure was nice to have a break from the craziness that is my family.
Because there is just too much to blog about here are a few snapshots of the week....
I couldn't image a better way to ring in the New Year than with Christmas lights, a fire, Hot chocolate, and JRP. It was perfect I wouldn't have rather been anywhere else in the world.
Here's the vampire snowman we made (Yes, I can turn even snowman into something Halloween I can't help it! It is my favorite holiday after all)
Our snowman was slightly tipping over so JPR thought it would be a good idea to put some supports in back to help it stand up and heres how they turned out completely on accident....
I nearly started rolling in the snow from laughter it was so funny.
We did a lot more in the week I just forgot to bring my phone around with us so I could take pictures.
Then when I came back to my home yesterday Santa had brought me a late present!!
I have been eyeing these chairs since they sat in my grandparents house when I was kid. I love them so much and they are finally mine!! There are 2 but my parents had to leave one at my aunts cause they couldn't fit it in their car. I'm thinking about recovering them. They are a mustardy color you can't really see in the picture I was thinking maybe some cool black and white print fabric or something! I don't know Let me know what you think!! AHH I'm so excited about them!!
Also, I got Diva (my embroidery machine. Yes, I name all my sewing machines) back today!!!! :):):):) It's so nice to have her home and I looked into adding on to my little family of machines, but I'm going to have to think about it a bit. It's a big decision!
Well It's a new year and I guess that means its time to make New Year's resolutions. Normally I wouldn't do this, but I thought hey why not this year.
This year my resolution is to de-clutter and organize my life. Which is pretty broad, but mostly I just want to not be as stressed out as I have been in the past.
I started this a bit tonight by cleaning out my apartment of stuff that I just don't need or use and this is what I ended up with...
4 bags of trash, 1 box, and 1 bag of give way clothes (should be more, but I have a hard time parting with my clothing)
Here's a list of a few other things that fall under the category of "de-cluttering and organizing my life"
1. Finishing up projects that have been started
2. Deep cleaning the apartment every week
3. Making a binder to keep my school work in and using it
4. Going to every class (or at least most of them) (baby steps, people, baby steps)
5. Making a menu for the week and buying only the food needed for that
6. Working out with JRP ever day (or at least 5 times a week)
7. Clean dishes right after use (no more sink full of dishes, I can't take it)
8. Finally finishing my Vienna Journal (Ugh this just makes me mad that I haven't done this!)
That's all I can think of now, but I know I will have more!
It should be a very exciting year!! I can't wait!!
2010 I thought it would be odd when you arrived, but now I'm more than happy for you to be here. I'm ready for whatever you are going to throw at me! Bring it on!!
